Welcome

Gordon Townson was an Education Liaison Officer with Grampian Police for several years lecturing extensively on good citizenship, personal safety and drugs education. He developed his own distinctive style of presentation involving students in role play to great effect. Combining this with his long held position as Chairman of Grampian Police Diced Cap Charitable Trust (2001 - 2009) he energetically drove community engagement and was presented with the Chief Constable’s Award 2004 for his outstanding commitment.

Gordon left the Force May 05 after 30 years service and launched his Community Engagement Consultancy GTEYE2EYE. He was subsequently engaged to deliver ‘Enterprise in Education’ in Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City and has ‘driven with vision’ a project known as ‘Diced Cap Delta Challenge’ incorporating several high profile showcase events including the Devils Cauldron and Good Samaritan Awards which he event managed and compered. This project was recognised with a COSLA Award March 08 for excellence in ‘Advancing Community and Citizen Well-being’  It's success was further endorsed by the attendance of Scottish First Minister Rt Hon Alex Salmond MP MSP at the R.A.Y.S. (Recognising Achievement of Youth in Schools) Awards Dinner June 2008.

In April 2009 the Scottish First Minister also kindly hosted a reception at the Great Hall, Edinburgh Castle to recognise the work of Diced Cap and the achievements of citizens demonstrating strength in the face of adversity. This 'finest hour' in an incredible journey caused Gordon to reflect on bowing out and a few months later he resigned his position as Chairman / Trustee to allow younger Trustees to continue to carry the charity forward.
