Personal Safety Training
You may now be leaving school and possibly your home environment to go to university or a first job. You face exciting new experiences but are also exposed to potential risks. It is vital in the final year at school that you focus positively on personal safety issues relating to your new environment to achieve peace of mind and fruitful, enjoyable study.

GTEYE2EYE wants you to enjoy your new freedom!
Here are a few things to remember.

• ACCLIMATISE – Get used to the campus ASAP, visit it during the summer.
• AWARENESS – Seek out any useful settlement literature.
• ASSESSMENT- Use your common sense to spot any risks.
• AVOIDANCE – Don't let peer pressures influence you.
• FRIENDS – Make the effort to develop a support network, make friends.
• BODY LANGUAGE – Be positive, do not think VICTIM.
• DRESS SENSE – Think sensibly, don't make yourself a TARGET.
• BULLYING – This does not stop at school, if it happens REPORT it.
• SIXTH SENSE – Strong in the female population, don't ignore it.

Remember unprovoked random assaults are not common. There is not a mugger on every street corner.
